About Patricia Kreiser

Patricia Kreiser is the author-illustrator of the book Always Together, a story about two otters who are always connected, always sharing, and always together until one day they are not—one is left behind and nothing is the same. Always Together is Kreiser’s debut picture book, with characters inspired by the river otter exhibit at Philadelphia Zoo. Kreiser says: “Water is Life has long been my favorite place in the Zoo to observe and sketch. Even though my book has an obviously anthropomorphic and fictional depiction of otters, I was inspired to use them as my characters because I adore their movements—both under water and over ground—and their highly social nature made them the perfect fit for my emotional story.”
